Bathroom Tile

Hours are getting very, very long these days. We have a departure date and thus we have put the screws on ourselves...i just hope they're not the nails in our coffins!
We just finished (minus the edges) the bathroom tile @ 11:23 pm.
BJ

These next two patterns are what i was really hoping to place on the floor! I like to leave my signature, so i thought that a lightning bolt with tile would be the coolest thing ever!! But I wasn't sure everyone else would agree :)

So on the walls the dark was the dominant color with the light tile being the accent diamonds, and on the floor the light tile is the dominant with the dark being the accent.

If you look closely you can see that for every accent tile, whether on the wall or on the floor, there were four tiles that had to be cut in order to inlay the accent tile at a 45 degree offset.

Painting & Skating,

The spiders seem to have come out of hibernation...this one was seen rappelling from the kitchen ceiling! They're all the same kind too! They are actually kinda cute! :)

But not as cute as Van Flinstone! We tried to get him to model it without the jeans and t-shirt but he said that it was too short! I'm not sure what that was supposed to mean.

Ok, so most of the pictures are of skating, but that'll change soon. I went to post these and realized that the only 3 pictures that were take of us working on the painting we of me when i had put my foot into a bucket of water...on accident of course! I was painting a ceiling corner and Ali calls so i hold a paint tray in one had, and a brush in the same hand, and then my phone in the other hand and begin to walk down the step ladder backwards. I step down and get this wonderful cooling sensation on my hot, tired, sore feet, but only one foot! It's ok, i'd do it again if Alison called! :)

The coolest thing about this ramp is that it was built entirely by scrap and old lumber...the lumber that used to be in the walls of the "pre-renovation" Gunter house!!
Don't worry Suz, this wasn't on company time! :)

If we weren't the talk of the neighborhood before, we most definitely are now! Especially with the 20 kids that congregate everyday after school next door!

Painting the Kitchen

This is for you Allison! it was really hilarious, Allison calls Barak so he answers the phone. But were in the middle of painting at eleven o'clock at night, he steps down off his lader and right into a five gallon bucket of water totally soaking his entire foot. It was one of the funniest things, i was laughing so hard i could barely breathe. we'll post more pictures of the beautiful kitchen as we can. the end.....to be continued

vAn-dA-mAn

We had a very nice suprise this weekend...Vangaurd came to visit and do a little sorting! As you can see from the first picture he just couldn't wait to get started :)

I made the mistake of challenging him on the dart board, what i didn't know was that he was prfessional dart tosser in a previous life! The pictures below are not staged! He threw the first dart which was low, around the triple ring. Then his second dart was in the green bullseye! I laughed and said yeah, whatever! Then he proceeds to throw the most centered bullseye in the red that i have ever seen!! Sufice it to say, he has retired from thowing darts for a while as he feels he has proved his worth! :)

Now that we have a native homey in town, we were able to get some good tips on how to bling it!

Where's Waldo? I mean Van?
If you look carefully you can see him peeking up from under the rubble. This was just moments after a near fatal cave-in. We heard a loud crash followed by muffled calls for help. He was very fortunate because it only took a few hours to uncover him and he had an air pocket, thus he came out of the frightening experience virtually unscathed!
Here Willie & I created one of the largest walk-in-closets ever! It's a beautiful thing!
